On Friday, September 11, 2026, the GODTalk group at Faith Baptist Church partnered with the Spina Bifida of Surry Foundation to host a special BBQ chicken dinner fundraiser to help a Westfield child with spina bifida who is in need of spine surgery. Unfortunately, the surgery is not being covered by insurance, creating a significant financial burden for the family.
What began as a fundraiser became a wonderful example of what can happen when a community comes together to help a family in need.
Several local businesses generously donated supplies and support to make the dinner possible, including Stillwater’s Cafe, Scoops, and Central Cafe. Church members and family members also donated food, supplies, and other necessities for the event.
Members of GODTalk and Faith Baptist Church spent several days preparing for the dinner. On Friday, volunteers gave their time to cook, prepare meals, serve guests, and make sure everything ran smoothly. Their willingness to work together and give their time was a true reflection of Christian love and compassion.
GODTalk would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket, made a donation, provided supplies, volunteered their time, or otherwise supported this family. Every contribution helped make a difference.
